I Am Learning to Count in Twos

We have been practising counting in twos when we do the calendar in the morning. Today I used this game on the ipad to count in twos. I can do it with the board but it is tricky to do it without looking at the numbers.

I Am Learning the Beginning, Middle and End Sounds of Words

Today on the ipad I had to find the beginning, middle and end sounds of the words. It was fun. I can do it but sometimes some sounds are tricky. The end sounds are the trickiest.

Fantastic Frogs

As a follow up to our poem ‘Frog Song’ and our Big Book, we sketched frogs. We coloured them with pastels. We then had fun drawing flies and sticking on wobbly eyes. We think they look cool!

When I Grow Up

We have had lots of visitors from our community who have talked to us about their jobs. We wrote a story about what we would like to be when we grow up.

"It was tricky to spell army. I can spell some other words by myself now. I think I drew a good picture."

I Am Learning to Subtract Numbers

We are learning to take away. They are easy. We enjoy playing this game on the ipad.

"The answer is 2. It was easy."

I Am Learning to Read A Book on the Computer

During Reading time we have turns of the computer. We read the PM Readers. We read the same colour as the books we read with Mrs Grainger. We listen to the story first, then we do the activities. We try to get 4 coloured animals at the bottom of the screen. This shows we have answered the questions correctly the first time. A grey animal shows we had to try again to get the correct answer.

I chose 'the Toy Town Rescue' because I like cars. I've read this book before. I had to click on the right one. I had to match the words with the picture. I got four coloured dogs because I know how to do it."

I Am Learning to Join Two Sets and Complete the Equation

We played this game on the ipad today. We had to choose the right star to finish the equation. I will choose the star with 3 on it.

A Winter Tree at Sunrise

We are learning to draw trees. We drew the tree with black vivid and then dyed the background with sunrise colours. Then we added the seven Matariki stars.

PMP is Fun

PMP is fun. We enjoy using the equipment and moving to music.

I Can Write a Silly Sentence

In phonics we are learning to sound out three letter words. We are listening for the beginning, the middle and end sounds. We practise reading and writing the words. We can then remember to do this when we read our books.

"I am writing a silly sentence. Mrs Jenner helps me when I have trouble hearing the sounds. I need to sound out the words. Sometimes they are a bit tricky"
